The Raydiance Breakthrough

Up until now, the practical value of this technology has been limited by its high cost and complexity.  Raydiance merges state of the art computing, internet and micro-optical/photonic technologies to create the first intelligent, programmable, practical USP laser.

The Raydiance breakthrough came in developing a desktop-size USP laser that could deliver power levels that could achieve non-thermal ablation in a device small and robust enough to have practical applications. Raydiance has transformed USP technology by shrinking a laboratory behemoth down to a desktop Internet appliance that is “plug and play”.

Equally important, Raydiance has infused the laser with integrated software control. A user simply controls the laser from a graphical interface on a laptop.  Virtually every step in pulse generation is monitored and controlled by embedded microprocessors. Researchers with little or no laser experience, for example, those in medical-related fields, can spend their time developing application breakthroughs rather than worrying about tedious fine tuning of the laser before and during every experiment. 

Deep integration of computing technology also means that Raydiance can be easily integrated into just about any application configuration.  An application programming interface (API) and other input/output “hooks” let you customize Raydiance quickly and easily. 

A Platform for Innovation

The Raydiance laser is designed to be a “developer’s toolkit” for pioneering research that will translate into intellectual property (IP) development and device prototyping around a variety of applications.

Raydiance’s business plan centers on partnering with innovative institutions and individual inventors that can leverage the technology to solve specific problems. Under this model, all applications IP resides with the Raydiance partner, while Raydiance retains the core laser and software IP.

In addition, Raydiance works with applications developers to take their products to market. This collaboration includes technical assistance in engineering the product for mass marketing, as well as leveraging Raydiance’s extensive venture capital and investment banking resources to secure funding for business development.  Be it a novel surgical procedure, explosives detection device, or a new manufacturing technique, Raydiance is equipped to take USP-driven technologies from the lab bench to the marketplace.
