Human Resource Manager
Petaluma, CA

As the Company’s Human Resources leader, this position provides strategic and tactical HR support to multiple sites across the United States. The individual will provide leadership, guidance and counsel with respect to compensation, performance management, organizational development, coaching, communications, employee relations, policy interpretation, workforce planning, employment law, and other general HR issues. The Human Resource Manager will also partner with our functional leaders and site managers to strategize, define and resolve complex business problems as well as serve as the “go-to” contact for workplace claims, employment law and discipline issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with managers to define, develop, and implement HR programs to support the organization’s business needs. Translate business strategies into HR initiatives and actions.
  • Proactively provide expert counsel, coaching and direction on people issues by assisting managers with recruiting, developing, coaching, training, and employee discipline.
  • Responsible for policy development, communication, and compliance.
  • Administer approved policies and procedures including recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and organization development.
  • Deliver and communicate companywide HR programs and initiatives, such as: performance management, compensation, employee relations, training, legal compliance, internal communications, and other HR projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Act as a first point of contact to managers and provide HR generalist support to the organization.
  • Provide support in all areas of employee relations.
  • Work with management to determine development needs and help coordinate plan and conduct approved management training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university and PHR/SPHR preferred, 5+ years of HR experience in a fast-paced, high-tech startup environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures, best practices and trends.
  • Must be energetic and approachable, with the ability to influence change across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service track record.
  • Strong HR consulting and coaching skills.
  • Understanding of broad HR functional areas.
  • Command of the people aspects of business strategy and objectives.
  • Available to travel 2 to 3 weeks per quarter.

Leadership/Management Skills:

This position will collaborate and work closely with other departments in developing innovative initiatives to respond to and support the critical dynamics of the business.

This is a highly visible position which regularly interfaces with the executive leadership team.

This individual must model and support a collaborative work environment.

Candidate must possess sound business judgment combined with the ability to provide fresh, proactive insight.

Functional Mastery:

Candidate must have a solid background in all general areas of HR, including recruiting, compliance, policy and procedure, compensation, benefits, and worker’s compensation. Success in the recruiting arena is of particular interest. In addition, candidate must have sound analytical ability, good judgment, be well organized, self-directed, intelligent, articulate, and empathic, with the ability to relate to and communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
